Inspired by my healing journey, Gettin’ JUICY was birthed out of my desire to have a sacred space to talk freely about sex, sensuality, and self-pleasure with other women – without feeling ashamed.

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault, reclaiming my body has been an arduous journey. Growing up, I did not view my body as a sight of pleasure and I would describe my womb, my yoni, my body as “defective” and “worthless.” For many years, I’ve struggled with body confidence issues, low libido, menstrual health challenges and severe depression. I always felt uncomfortable talking about sex in community with others and I was withdrawn from myself so much that I didn’t engage in self pleasure. I didn’t believe that it would ever be possible for me to enjoy sex or live a life filled with pleasurable experiences.

In January, I did my yearly self-divination ritual which involves an oracle/tarot card reading followed by a meditation practice to discover themes + affirmations to focus on for the year. This year, one of my themes was self-love along with the affirmation: I DESERVE JUICY PLEASURE! Initially, I felt slightly intimidated by this affirmation, but I also felt inclined to lean into the discomfort and discover the medicine that might come from using it. I began to chant the affirmation, dance with the affirmation, speak it aloud in conversation and share it with others. These practices led me to get curious about ways to fully embody the affirmation, so I created some pleasure mapping practices to begin exploring my sexual desires and envisioning a world where I could freely express my sensuality without shame. I began to use self-pleasure exploration as a tool for body reclamation and self-healing.

By February, I facilitated two Soils Labs in the Garden – The Self Love Soiree Part 1 and Part 2 inspired by my discoveries. I wanted to share my sacred practices with other Creators in the Garden and bring them along on my journey, so I could feel witnessed, celebrated, and supported. Afterwards, many Creators begin to share their excitement and curiosities with me, and I realized that I wasn’t the only one seeking a sacred space to have these discussions. So, I reached out to Margaux – a former sex educator and amazing sister friend, to support me with creating Getting’ JUICY, so that I could explore all of the topics that myself and other Creators were curious about but might be too afraid to ask/discuss.

I am deeply grateful that I followed the YES in my heart and decided to find the medicine in what appeared to be something so scary. I am deeply grateful that I am finding ways to center my story, continue my healing and do it out loud while, hopefully, inspiring other Creators to do the same.

This is the first official episode of Gettin’ JUICY and I’m so excited about sharing it in the Garden!!! As you watch/listen, I hope that you discover something that piques your interest and/or inspires you to explore your own embodiment of JUICY PLEASURE!

about our soils lab

Soils Lab is a central component of Mother Mother’s evolving creative practice methodology, An Introduction to Soils: Preparing the Heart, Mind and Body for Deeply Generative Creations.

Soils Labs are where we explore practices that nourish our soil of creation, the substance from which we create everything we do. Soils Labs journey into diverse creative realms like writing, storytelling, visual art, sacred rituals, healing practices, movement, birth and fertility studies, and so much more. Every creator shares from the wealth of her brilliance, and we all grow from there.

attending soils lab

Soils Labs are collaborative-time (live), virtual gatherings. To honor and protect the intimacy of our sharing, Soils Labs are not recorded. We are a Come As You Are congregation and you are welcome to attend as much or as little of the lab as you like. You must be a creator in the Garden who has confirmed conscious participation to receive the access link for the labs. Please visit the Fertility Abundance Garden Welcome Center to join the Garden and begin attending Soils Labs. If you have recently or previously joined the Garden, visit the Sanctuary to confirm or reconfirm your conscious participation.

ABOUT SOFT-TIME

The Garden thrives in soft-time expansions. While the Soils Lab is a collaborative-time gathering, we consciously create multiple points of engagement for all creators to participate in the majesty of our explorations and experiments, whether or not you attend the lab. In addition to the practice maps, our Soils Labs are archived in multiple places inside the Creators Portal and the Creators Shared Diary. We also extend conversations and discovery opportunities in the Creators Channel and Fertile Majesties groups. Mattering soft-time practice spaces is a vital way that we disrupt mandates of capitalism, and continue to decentralize fixed-time and cumpulsory-time standards as universally legitimate and relevant. In making space for the diversity of our life rhythms and labors, we take great care to develop generative, nourishing methodologies that honor the fluid nature of our lives as creators.
