Every Creation Has A Story
Greetings and Blessed Day to you, Amazing Creators!
HERE WE GROW!!!!!
I greet you from the chaos of a Wednesday morning at Mother Mother Sanctuary. Revvy is screaming to go downstairs, to eat food. At nearly 17-months old, the morning nunu doesn’t buy me as much time as it used to. My heart is full though, and I want to write. I want to share. I want to be here in the Garden.
Today I am celebrating 400 weeks of motherhood! A little over 7 1/2 years ago, on the last Wednesday in August, I gave birth to Bloom. I have been counting the weeks ever since, and I will never stop. Every week on Wednesdays, and then Fridays, and then Saturdays, and now Mondays, I count the weeks to mark how much each child has grown—and each version of my mothering self has grown—since they were born. This is my sacred ritual. All my calendars note the progression of weeks. And every time a child, a mother, reaches another 100, we celebrate.
I am honoring this new hundred mark by deepening into my practice as Mother Mother, and realizing another layer of possibility—and responsibility— in how I share my sacred stories with the Garden. Welcome to Creation Stories: Threading & Weaving the Metanarratives of the Garden, the internal blog of the Fertility Abundance Garden. This is where you can trace the evolution of our story as a congregation, the birth of our creative practices, the development and expansion of our collaborative projects, featured creator journeys, my stories of life in the Mother Mother Sanctuary, and so much more!
This is also where all love notes will live from now on. As I deepen in understanding about my labors to discover and realize these round, living, spiritual texts and creations about breastfeeding, fertility codes, birth stories, maternal intelligence, abundance consciousness, the mmC Majestic Muscle Core, and the holy experiment that is the Garden, I am able to be more conscientious about where I place my words. Our stories are our wealth. Pouring out my heart and soul in Gmail no longer feels like a Yes, and so in feeling for what is my Yes, Creation Stories was born.
So what do I mean by metanarrative? The metanarrative is the universe that a story is born into. It’s the underbelly and the root, the air and the water in the soil/soul of the story. The metanarrative combines all the threads of possibility that make the phenomenon of the story real. The metanarrative is also the generative, expansive space around the story where you can experiment with and try on different narratives, voices, contexts, and initiation points as you feel your way into the story you want to share.
I am excited to use Creation Stories as a practice and play space for my many metanarratives. I stayed up late taking tiny, mighty steps into one of the stories that I’ve wanted to open up for a long time. But the Garden is the first place where I feel the softness exists to lovingly tread my way through it. Here is the beginning of something, My Day Begins Last Night.
I’m so excited for the depths of sharing that are going to be archived in Creation Stories. I’ve been dreaming up such a portal for a while, because I LOVE telling you the story of all the things I create in the Garden! Every aspect of our magical world has significance and threads back to the prayers and visions for nurturing our fertility abundance, for celebrating our stories, and for living in our Yes.
I’m feeling into what our explorations will be for tomorrow’s Movement Lab. Right now the activation word is divinity. I often feel for the word/idea/image that comes, and go from there. In the early Garden seasons I would “plan” our sessions, and then try to keep to the program. But that was difficult to sustain with the fluctuations of munchkin life, and so I learned to soften—and have way more fun!— feeling my way into our practice when we come together. Everyone who participates in the lab shapes our discovery. I enjoy waiting to see what energies show up, what stories center themselves in our dialogue and dancing, and experimenting with our movement play from there.
Since softening in this way I’ve been able to apply the same process to many other things in the Garden and in my life (which is still basically the Garden lol). I welcome your stories about how softening and releasing the idea of a plan has opened up exploration and creation in new ways. You are always welcome to share your stories with the Garden in whichever ways feel good to you!
Please take from these offerings only what you need as a creator, and leave all else behind.
The morning has moved on since the beginning of this love note. Noon is dawning and a tired Revvy is asleep on my back as I sway through the last lines. Thank you for reading and celebrating the birth of Creation Stories!
I love you & I celebrate you!
Love,
Binah
