How To Share Your Stories & Creations With The Garden

The text below has since been expanded on and the How To Share Your Stories & Creations With The Garden practice guide now reflects the most comprehensive resources for creators who want to share their stories and creations.

Our Stories Are Our Wealth!!!

Every time you share—a story, a poem, a video of you dancing, a link to something you’re reading, a recipe, photos, a journal entry, a voice note, a painting, pictures of you living your amazing creative life, sketches of a scene, pieces of a work in progress—whatever it is, it adds to our abundance! Each share seeds more interaction, discovery, and possibility with other creators. Your share might illuminate more opportunities for healing in your life or someone else’s. Your share might spark a collaboration with another creator that really feeds your soil/soul. Your share might be the invitation for another creator to find the courage to finally share something herself. Anything is possible, everything is possible, when we share!

But HOW do we share in the Garden? I get this question a lot, so I am making this post to (hopefully) simplify and demystify the process. The Garden is really a low-tech virtual world. We don’t (yet) have a sophisticated platform to upload shares. Sharing, then, is very very simple. There are 3 basic ways to share something with the Garden:

  • Email the Garden: Your share will only be accessible to creators a part of the current email thread

  • Post in Creators Channel and/or Fertile Majesties (if you’ve opted to be in the WhatsApp group/s): Your share will only be accessible to creators who are in that/those WhatsApp group(s)

  • Add a chapter to the Creators Shared Diary: Your share will be accessible to current creators, and future creators, who visit the Diary

You are invited to share in whichever ways feel good and nourishing to YOU as a creator. Any way you share pours into our collective magic and abundance cultivation. Here are some things to consider to support you in feeling for what is a Yes for you.

  • How do you want creators to experience your creation? Choose the format(s)—text, audio, video, photo, etc.—for your share. Small audio and video files can be shared easily via email or in the WhatsApp groups. If you have larger files, upload your content to Soundcloud, Youtube, Vimeo, etc. and then share the link with the Garden in your preferred way.

  • Where do you want your creation to live so that creators can access it? You are reminded to take great care of your stories, your words, and your creations. Consider the majesty of each creation you are sharing, and decide where the best place to share it is.

  • Do you want to encourage a certain type of engagement with your creation? Think about how people can interact with your share. Choose the sharing space that most supports the engagement you’re dreaming of.

  • Do you want feedback? Be clear about what, if any, feedback you welcome when you share. Ask for specific types of feedback and let creators know your preferred method of communication to send you feedback, or if you’d like them to share with the group.

  • Do you want your creation to be accessible to creators in this current season, or for future creators as well? You are welcome to share as much as you like, in as many places as you like. If you’d like your share to be a part of the living archive so that future creators can access it to, add a chapter to the Creators Shared Diary google doc.

How you answer these questions will determine where you share and how you share. I am here to help you if you need any assistance bringing your shares to the Garden. The more we share, the more we grow! I’m so excited for all the sharing to come!
