Welcome To The Abundance Of Creator Brilliance
“I write from my knowledge not my lack, from my strength not my weakness. I am not interested if anyone knows whether or not I am familiar with big words, I am interested in trying to render big ideas in a simple way. I am interested in being understood not admired.”
Mother Lucille Clifton
Sweet new breath to you, Vivacious Creators!
I greet you from the possible start of Revvy’s nap. He’s been hollering for the last 20 minutes, so yeah…a nap would be lovely! I’m laying on my side with him on my left breast. Assorted munchkins are whining about a snack time delay. I’m telling them to clear out so I can settle Revvy. They unhappily descend the stairs muttering their complaints to each other.
Revvy has decided it’s actually not nap time, opting to travel downstairs with his father and sister. I am laying here, alone for an unexpected interlude until someone comes and finds me. Groovy, sonic-escapade music fills the air.
I’m proud of myself for following my own Come As You Are mantra and sharing today’s incomplete and emerging Welcome Week exploration, Welcome To The Abundance Of Creator Brilliance. In this journey you are invited to witness the evolution of our sistership through the majesties of experiential offerings that creators develop for the Garden. In today’s love note I share the vision for our newest portal, Creator Brilliance, and talk about why it’s so nourishing to our collective abundance when creators share their divine creations with us. Even if it’s only a spark, a barely-there idea that hasn’t quite found its way into words—there is something magical and possible that can grow from sharing it with the Garden.
I had wanted to already have each Creator Brilliance discovery sphere (so far there are three I’ve come up with) built and live on the Creators Portal, but as usual, the vision is too big to weave together in just a few days. There’s no need to cram a dream, time being so abundant and all. So instead, I invite you to celebrate the birth of the Creator Brilliance portal as it is. The first active discovery sphere, Practices, features immersive practices designed by lovelies in our congregation. This is now the home of our magical NaPoWriMo Adventure Board, an inspiring set of poetry prompts created by our wonderful Margaux in the Spring Garden.
The Creator Brilliance Practices collection is also home to a new addition to the Garden, BiLDe: Body-Intuited Life Design Exploration, created by our amazing Zindzi. BiLDe is a growing series of reflective processes that support you in accessing your body wisdom for healing, guidance, and so much more. It is truly an awesome creation and I’m so happy we get to experience Zindzi’s love-labor, and support her in bringing BiLDe to life. Congratulations Zindzi on birthing another dimension of your practice by offering BiLDe to the Garden! We’re so excited to dive in!
I’ve moved downstairs, served the long-awaited snacks, sat in the heat with Revvy, practiced Bloom’s words of the week, and had a heart-illuminating exchange with my mother that has me feeling some kind of way, processing the hurts that arise out of nowhere when you have plenty other things to do with your thoughts, and slowly finding my way into the reality of more compassion. Again, more compassion is needed…is always needed.
My mood has changed, and I’m practicing being present for all I feel in this now. Revvy is still playing and also has a major diaper situation that is offending everyone’s nose. I’m letting him ride out the last of the pre-nap energy because after I wash him off we’ll try this nap thing again.
Upstairs now. Post diaper party in the bathroom. Post nursing Revvy to sleep. Post secret chocolate chip cookies for me and Juju. Now I’m on the computer, having transferred the opening paragraphs from the Pages app on my phone into the blog editor. I’m sitting on Juju’s bed, which doubles as my seated work space whenever Revvy is sleeping or not in the room.
Over the summer season I’ll be designing the other discovery spheres inside the Creator Brilliance portal. Workshops will feature highlights and summaries from creators who have led workshops during our live labs. Open Dreamscapes will be an interactive storyboard for our dreams. As we deepen into the labors of dreaming these new worlds forwards, I invite more engagement and sharing around specific elements of what we see, feel, and imagine can be.
Mother Lucille says, “we cannot create what we can’t imagine.” So let us be even more present with sacred labors of imagining. We are creating these worlds within, so that they can be realized outside in the world around us. This is also so much of what the Garden is here for—to dream out loud, and to be deeply loved and celebrated as we courageously labor into our dreams. The Open Dreamscape will be a space to organize thoughts, questions, maps, outlines, and possibilities around a central dreamscape. There are multiple dreamscapes that I’ll be offering for us to play inside. Creators who want to offer their dreamscapes to the Garden are invited to bring their visions forward so that we can collaborate on giving their dreamscape a home in the Creators Portal.
Juju is now having her midday-Revvy-is-napping nunu time. I’m feeling into all the things swirling within me, and also enjoying the soft breeze the ceiling fan is gifting me. Revvy woke up and I nursed him back to sleep. Big children are hungry and asking for food.
I’m so excited for this evolving space to play, dream, and share ideas together in the Garden. Seeding abundance is all about nurturing more and more opportunities to share, witness, and celebrate our brilliance in all its forms. As creators we discover new dimensions of ourselves through the sharing of our creations. When others interact with what we create, it gives us information and invites us to know ourselves and our creations in never-before imagined ways.
My offer to everyone in the Garden is that we are here to support you in bringing more light, love, visibility, and engagement to the sacred dreams you are tending to, or possibly have yet to speak aloud, or even to yourself. It nourishes my soil as a creator, and as Mother Mother, to root more deeply into my priestess labors while nurturing more possibility for brighter, more radiant light in our congregation, and in our world. The light is within all of us, and it heals, it feeds, it awakens. This divine light creates more energy for everything that we feel called to grow and bring forth.
The Garden is a space to recover, amplify, and expand the lived realities of this precious light, and to celebrate it as an essential element of our freedom, joy, and abundance. Our creations, and the brilliance that they express, are at the heart of this abundance we are yearning to experience, to live into, to know. No idea is too small, too undone, too simple. Everything is a seed that might open the way for you, for us all, to a more passionate, generative existence within these moments we call life.
The music is still flowing. Munchkins have been satiated (at least for a bit) and quieted with more snacks. Revvy is probably going to wake again soon. There a few more love note labors to do before this reaches your inbox. I will pause here.
Thank you for witnessing and celebrating the birth of Creator Brilliance! Here We Grooooooow! More soon!
I love you.
