Dancing With The Possibilities

Hello Radiant One! Welcome to Seed & Spark: Journal of the Fertility Abundance Garden. Thank you for being here and witnessing our labors to share our sacred stories. Our stories are our wealth and in the Garden we are discovering the bounty of our stories and how to apply that wealth to the cultivation of our abundance. The Fertility Abundance Garden is a congregation for creators, a sanctuary for mothers, and a dreamscape for sacred storytellers. To learn more about the Garden or to join as a creator, please visit the Fertility Abundance Garden Welcome Center. If someone forwarded this post to you and you want to receive your own, subscribe to Seed & Spark and receive the Fertile Friday love note every week that highlights new shares in the journal. So much life, labor, and love goes into creating and sustaining the Garden and everything we share. The Garden is sustained by the kindness and generosity of creators and supporters. If any part of our magical world touches your heart and nourishes your being as a creator, please do pour into our Giving Well or join a Sustainability Circle today. If you are already contributing to our bounty, THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE!

dancing with the possibilities

Generating expansive dreamscapes & understanding why we cultivate abundance

Everything in nature reflects continuous abundance. Diversity, multiplicity, variation, evolution, expansion—nature radiates the abundance in all expressions of creation. What part of nature do you most resonate with?

One of the scriptures I live by came back to me in my morning movement practice today: In fertility there are no promises, there are only possibilities. So much of how I create, mother, birth, and hold space is rooted in this deep knowing. I nurture this dream of the Garden from this truth, and it is an idea that we revisit often in our sacred story sharing.

Many of us are recovering from the brutal wounds of capitalism, reclaiming our right to our creative superpowers one breath, one dance, one song, one story at a time. Learning how to trust the creation rhythms—our own, organic creation rhythms—is a vital part of activating our fullness as creators. The machine-like forces of the world have presented narrow standards for meaningful, purposeful creations: What quantifiable thing will I receive for putting out this amount of energy/time/money? Everything in the machine has a predetermined assessment of the appropriate outcome, and anything falling below that outcome is marked as waste, as unnecessary, as an inefficient use of time.

This machinistic outlook clouds our creative field at times, and instead of pouring into our discovery labors, instead of asking big questions and softening time to feel into the possibilities, we internalize the machine scripting that is obsessed with the end result, and cares nothing of the process to get there. We interpret the unscripted, unpredictable flow of our creation majesties through the harsh, unfeeling language of capitalism. We call ourselves slow, or stuck, or disorganized, or procrastinators—but really we are longing to free ourselves from the confining structures of a system that has no capacity to honor our true magic as creators, and lacks the applied intelligence to support dynamic creation.

In the Garden we are consciously disrupting capitalism and inviting self-directed brilliance to bring us into new relationships with ourselves as creators. We are discovering the wonderful bounty of personal and collective enterprises by choosing to speak and act from the expansive nature of creation—a vibrant and holy nature that lives within all of us. At the root of this reimagining is the freedom to explore, to question, to experiment, to try, to share, to sit with, to wonder, to marvel, to feel, to matter*, to be inside the generative frequencies of the raw, messy creative forces that source our deepest creations.

Dancing helps me generate expansive dreamscapes because my body is an essential collaborator in all I’m creating. When I was dancing I remembered the reason why I dance into the possibilities even though I don’t have any guarantees that my dreaming labors will bring me exactly what I want. I dance because when I’m moving I can feel into the frequencies of all the possible ways my dream can be realized. I experience an expansion within that echoes outward around me. My dance initiates concentrated dream activation portals in my body, and then these embodied, dream-soaked spaces pick up on signals of possibility in the world outside of my body. My heightened sensitivities make me more aware of someone I should follow-up with, a book I need to check out, a walk I need to take, a place I need to reconnect with. In all these micro-moments and invisible interactions, the dream moves along, even when it seems completely unrelated, something is happening, I am happening, toward my dreams.

Giving ourselves the space, the permission, to ask, to explore, to imagine—this is the heart of why we practice abundance cultivation with such love and tenderness. These sacred journeys of returning ourselves to ourselves can be intense and turbulent to navigate on our own. In the Garden we are growing a sistership where we can witness and celebrate each other through the long labors of re/membering our hearts, our joys, our creations, our dreams.

We take great care to reflect our intricate majesties back to each other, and in all things we encourage each other to keep feeling into the possibilities, even when it seems like we’re far away from anything shifting or changing or coming true. The dance might be literal or metaphorical, but our conscious engagement with the possibilities around us is always necessary for activating our wildest, more liberating, more brilliant dreamscapes. In the Garden, when we are tired, when we are mourning, when we are overwhelmed, when we are frustrated, when we are longing for the future to hurry up and be here already—we practice holding space for the possibilities anyway. We take turns reminding one another about the fullness of these fluctuations. We affirm out loud and quietly in our hearts that every moment is ripe with possibility.

Being present with ourselves is the surest way to access the fertile depths of our possibilities. Dancing is how I access the fullest presence with my possibilities. How do you best commune with your possibilities?

In the Garden we are devoted to the labors of activating this deep presence with ourselves, of choosing ourselves again and again, so that we can unearth and expand our individual and communal possibilities. Seeding possibilities together is another way to amplify abundance. We realize that even though we cannot be certain of how an opportunity will unfold, at any given moment—even when we feel we’re at our lowest—we are still the most abundant source of our own dreams. This knowing leads us deeper into the discovery realms as creators. More and more we find reasons to celebrate that truly living into our possibilities means taking radical responsibility for how we live.
